심청: Daughter Overboard! Auslan Interpreted Performance

심청: Daughter Overboard! Auslan Interpreted Performance

We’d like to invite you to a special Auslan interpreted performance of our show.
This performance has been made by artists from Australia and Korea.
It’s based on the traditional story of Shimchong, a girl who throws herself into the ocean to cure her father’s blindness.

This is a new version that retells the story in an Australian setting and it focuses on the current refugee situation.
This is a performance in spoken text, live music, puppetry and dance and the languages used are English and Korean

During this special Auslan interpreted performance, Leanne Beer and Bec Jones from Creative Access
will be on stage interpreting the spoken text and lyrics.
We won’t be interpreting the Korean text, but don’t worry, the English users won’t understand either.

Our teams are interested in making performances that you can enjoy whether you understand English or Korean,
and for this special interpreted Auslan performance, Auslan as well.
